Jack Christian from Amesbury surveys Elevated concrete tank in Bunyori.

Through a community effort, Esabalu Self Help Group began to seek outside assistance helping them in developing a reliable source of clean water. They are now collaborating with the Kisumu Rotary Club on a 16,000,000-shilling project funded by Rotary International.

The project was initiated in 1996 and completed in May 2007. Four boreholes have been drilled. Submersible electric pumps bring water to aboveground storage tanks and kiosks for distribution.  The entire system is scheduled to be turned over to the Ebusakami Water Supply, Ltd. on June 1, 2007.

Global Water provided a W.A.T.E.R. Team hydrologist to provide well drilling expertise and other on-site technical assistance.
