Project Background
In collaboration with Amesbury Elementary School, AFA has raised money over the course of fouryears to  build a library at the Ebussamba Primary School in Esabalu. Amesbury children donated  their used books to a book swap at the school. At the book swap each book cost only a quarter.  At the end of each year's book swap, Amesbury for Africa matched the funds raised by the students and all the money went  to Ebussamba's Library Project.

The library at Ebussamba is now complete. In June of 2005, Gerri Fegan, Amesbury Elementary traveled to Esabalu to instruct two teachers in how to implement a library at the school.

In 2001, at the completion of the book swap, a Diversity Assembly was held on March 14:

Funds raised through the Book Swap project:

2004 - $1360

2003 - $1600

2002 - $1700

2001 - $1340
